SLC was selected by the Grande Ronde Model Watershed to complete their Lostine River – Sheep Ridge Fish Passage Improvements Project. This project was completed during the month of September 2016.
The project was unique in that we built around an existing concrete weir structure that was impeding fish migration. In order to build around the structures and create a natural looking channel approximately 2,000 cubic yards of rock was imported. In addition to the rock placement, an existing wood diversion structure and culvert were removed. Now that the project is complete, it is estimated that 20 miles of fish passage has now been restored to the Lostine River.
